Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet Rich Plasma
What is Platelet-Rich Plasma?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is 100% natural and clinically proven to speed up recovery of injured tissue including skin, muscles, tendons, joints and more. At IMG we have perfected PRP therapy to obtain highly pure and ULTRA concentrated platelets in only about 20 minutes. We utilize the healing power of your own isolated platelets in the rejuvenation of your body! Platelets are naturally rich in several different growth and healing factors that help accelerate tissue and wound healing causing mild inflammation that triggers the healing cascade. As a result, new collagen and healthy tissue develops resulting in tightening and strengthening of the damaged area. What is the PRP process at IMG?
A small amount of your blood is drawn into our patented tubes and placed into a centrifuge. During this spin cycle the platelets are separated out from the red and white cells forming a thin ULTRA-concentrated layer of PRP. The red blood cells and platelet poor plasma are then discarded and we are left with your unique, rejuvenating PRP that is ready for use. The area to be treated is anesthetized and the PRP is injected back into the injured joint, tendon, ligament, skin, or muscle, which then stimulates the body’s natural repair processes. One cycle of platelet-rich plasma therapy usually requires 3 to 4 separate injections to the target tissue over a course of 3 to 4 months, and 1 cycle is all it takes! Results vary but the science is behind PRP and its powerful rejuvenating effects.
